Our first stop on our road trip was Amarillo. Long drive, about ten and a half hours. After checking in at the hotel, Pam and I headed for The Cadillac Ranch, an art installation in a pasture. It is one of my bucket list items. It doesn't look like much from I-40 but up close it is truly amazing, ten Cadillacs (1949-1963) are buried nose first into the ground. People come from all over the world to see this and spray paint new art work onto the cars.

The next day we drove to Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo. Palo Duro Canyon is the second largest canyon in the US, after the Grand Canyon. Palo Duro was suggested by our new friend, Ed. Well worth the time. We hiked around the canyon for several hours. Beautiful spot.
