Back on The Mainland: Chicago

Arrived on the mainland 21 September, relaxed two days and flew to Chicago for three days. We met my sister, her husband and her mother-in-law for a quick vacation. My sister has never been to Chicago so we acted as tour guides. We had great fun and the weather was really nice. We visited Millenium Park, Lincoln Park Zoo, the Magnificent Mile, the Museum of Science and Industry and walked all over.

We had plenty to eat as we made stops at Gino's East and Lou Malnati's for Chicago style pizza. While I really like them both, I have to give the nod to Lou Malnati's. It's the crust I think that sets it apart. We also ate at Carson's for Ribs, one of the great steak and chop houses in Chicago. We grabbed a couple sandwiches and tortas at Xoxo, Rick Bayless's take on Mexican street food. The food is made to order and excellent. Chicago is a great food town and unfortunately we only had three days.
